Ganesha Mudra – mudra for strengthening and energizing the heart

Ganesha Mudra is dedicated to elephant god, Ganesha. Ganesha is said to be the remover of obstacles. Ganesha Mudra is highly beneficial for the heart. The people having ailments related to weakness of heart, cholesterol blockages, depression, lack of confidence and openness should practice Ganesha Mudra. Ganesha Mudra opens the bronchial tubes, improves blood circulation and helps in opening up the heart chakra (Anahata Chakra). This leads to development of traits like love, compassion, courage and openness.
How to do Ganesha Mudra
Hold your left hand in front of your chest with the palm facing outward. Bend the fingers. Grasp your left hand with the right hand, which has its back facing outward. Move the hands to the level of the chest (close to the heart). Exhale and pull the hands apart without releasing the grip. This will tense the muscles of the upper arms and chest area. Inhale and let go of all the tension. Repeat this 6 times and then gently place both hands on the sternum in this position. Focus on the feeling in this part of your body. Then change the hand position. Your right palm now faces outward. Repeat the exercise 6 times in this position. Now, meditate for a while. Do it once a day.
Affirmation: I am a warm hearted person who loves all and is loved by all. I meet people with open arms. My life has a beautiful and definite purpose.
